Hey guys,

I use my iCloud just for backups and small documents (storage is just 50gb).

Now I put a folder with photos and videos (140GB) on my mac and it tries to upload them to my iCloud.

But how can I just save this folder local and not on the cloud?

Thanks for your help!

If you turned on the option to have the Documents and Desktop folder sync with iCloud, everything within those two folders will be uploaded. Where is this newly created photos and videos folder located?

It is located in documents but apparently I couldn't put it anywhere else but in documents or desktop.

Probably there is an easy solution for that?

Try putting your pictures & videos in the Pictures folder and they will not be synced to iCloud.

You need to create a top level folder within your User directory. Open a Terminal window. Just to be sure, issue a "cd" command to put you at the top of your User directory. Then issue "mkdir Media", or whatever you want to call the folder. You can put anything there and it won't be synced.
