How can I put my dock on right and reserve a screen space for it

I have just moved from Windows7 to a new Mac Mini (well I still use my windows laptop in parallel with my Mac) and one of the things I miss most is not being capable of assign a dedicated region of my screen for the OSX Doc.

I don´t like too much the hide/unhide feature, so I usually leave my dock on the right zone, however I would like that the other applications don´t put their windows behind of it.

I don't believe there is a way to specifically allocate a part of your screen that other windows can't interact with. It's just a Mac perk.

You can press the green button and it will automatically resize all your windows to fit. Thats the closest I can think of.
