It looks like I just missed the boat on the 9.3.3 jailbreak. I wish I could receive an email when a jailbreak is released so that I'll know. Is there such a mail list?

Is there any benefit in Jailbreak anymore? I used to when iPhone first came out to unlock from O2 network - so glad those days are over.

I check Reddit etc and the likes of iDownloadblog and iPhonehacks.

As for JB'ing still.

On stock I'm stuck with

4 apps in the dock. On JB I can have more.

Have to refresh my page by using the feature in the safari url box on stock. On JB I just pull the screen down to refresh.

On JB I can dictate what's in my control centre i.e. Mobile/Cellular Data which I turn off when on wifi at home. On stock its several button presses.

On JB I can have the 3D Touch effect on my iPhone 6 Plus.

Eclipse3 allows me to no longer have FisherPrice Colours on my iPhone.

These are just a few examples of how been JB enhances my usage. No more in apples sandbox. ;)

Why are you replying to a thread in the jailbreak section if you have no interest in jailbreaking anymore?

What kind of response to your question are you expecting from all of us jailbroken users in the jailbreak forum here on MR?

Certainly you cannot expect all of us jailbroken users to tell you it's not worth it!

Perhaps you just responded via the Forum Spy? That seems logical considering the only other explanation would be trolling us jailbreak users. :)

You didn't miss anything....you can still jailbreak. IOS 9.3.3 is still being signed.

You still have the opportunity to jailbreak on iOS 9.3.3

iOS 9.3.3 is currently still being signed, so if you download the ipsw for your device, you can still restore to 9.3.3 and jailbreak with pangu

Oh, that's great! Thank you.

Btw I jailbreak because I like to use LocationFaker and the Winterboard (I don't like the stock icons), and a bunch of other stuff, and its fun. Is there a free equivalent offered as a genuine App Store app?

Nope, there isn't one...jailbreak is a must for what you are looking for.

EDIT: Perfect timing :)

My phone is a 4S. Is that going to be a problem? Is the jailbreak available? It looks like I'd need a 32 bit version of the jailbreak.

It's still very useful and millions of users currently jailbreak their iDevices.
There hasn't been a software JB unlock since the iphone 4 with baseband 01.59.00 back in 2010.
Those days might be over for you or long time ago but there were many more jailbreaks released since then for every major ios version and with lots of useful cydia hacks and improvements for ios. Many of those improvements and add ons have been copied/duplicated by Apple and incorporated in official iOS updates thanks to the jailbreak scene and devs that like to tinker and put countless of hours and effort in releasing their hacks to the public via cydia.
In other words we should be thankful and praising the jailbreak community instead of talking down. The JB scene did come a long way and still going strong.
Without them iOS probably would not be what it is today.
Welcome to the Jailbreaks and iOS hacks section btw.

OP keep checking this section for JB news and releases.
Also post any questions or issues you might have and we will try to help you with anything that you need.

I have said it before: I am no expert.

However, it seems to me that there is likely some JB out there that will work on your 4S as it is right now, on 6.0.1

EDIT: from another thread in this forum (https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/jailbreak-tools-list-and-which-ios-they-can-jailbreak.1988024/), it seems that Evasi0n is the way to go.

Oh, yes, it is jailbroken right now. But there are apps that I can't download and one of them doesn't work right. I just know the only solution to it is to update.

Thank you for pointing me to that thread because I kick myself for not bookmarking a great webpage that had everything you needed to know about what jail break was available for which iOS. I'll probably Google it; it had drop down lists and stuff. Have you seen that, ring a bell? I'm picking up my new iPhone SE today and I anticipate it won't have the latest 9.3.4 on it.

Sorry; doesn't ring a bell. Good luck with your SE.
