Hi. Does anyone know how I can remove this annoying little keyboard widget from my iPad’s screen? I have no idea why it suddenly appeared. I am using Apple’s Magic Keyboard that is available for iPads, in case that matters.

The widget appears every time I place my cursor in a text field. It is annoying because:

  • It floats directly over buttons in some apps (ie: submitting a comment to a video in the YouTube app)
  • It can’t be moved to another corner of the screen
  • It’s unnecessary
Thank you!

P.S.: Oddly enough - I tried posting this question to the Apple Support forum first, but the forum keeps timing out immediately & won’t let me post. I’m glad Mac Rumors has a great forum.

I am annoyed by this to, I want the spelling checker/word finder active all the time. Don't what to keep having to hit this.

Under settings - Generel - Keybord . Find and disable Shortcuts.
