How can I share my iCloud calendar with my girlfriend's android phone?

I have my college schedule for myself and my girlfriend in my iCloud calendar, but she doesn't use any Apple products and has an android phone (Galaxy note 2).

I made an iCloud calendar for her school schedule and set it as a public calendar, but I am having trouble getting her phone to recognize it. When I texted her a link, it did not work and when I emailed it to her the Click here button did not work.

Is there any way I can get my iCloud to work with her phone?

Convert it to gmail and she can load it. I did this between iOS and Andriod a couple months ago.

Option 1 - share the calendar via Mac and add into gmail as a subscribed calendar (iCal)

Options 2 - use 3rd party apps like Smoothsync to sync all iCloud stuff directly
