Note: This has been an issue/annoyance long before iOS 14. This just looked like the logical forum to ask.

Let’s say I typed the following:

the quick Brown fox jumped over the lazy Dog.
And afterwards I realized the capitalizations were incorrect. I want to capitalize “the” and de-capitalize “Brown” and “Dog”. All of the internet tips say to select the word in question and then hit the shift key and you should see the word in predictive text capitalized/de-capitalized accordingly. Obviously I’m not seeing this or else I wouldn’t be posting. I do have predictive text enabled. Matter of fact, I have all of the keyboard sliders in the enabled position.

I do most of my ”typing” in web forms or SMS, but the issue is the same for each. I think the behavior is the same for iPhone and iPad. But I’m definitely having the issue on iPad.

Seems like placing the cursor behind the first letter of the word you want to modify, deleting the first letter, and then retyping the first letter as you'd want it (capitalized or not) should do the trick.
