Many other countries don't have a ton of stores. Manhattan has more stores than all of China.

Also keep in mind that major cities (read: NYC) have them in stock. It'll take a while for them to filter down to the other stores.

And the bloggers who've got them received review units from Apple, they didn't buy them.

I do need to go out more often, lol! I just didn't go out today because I 'd read somewhere that there wouldn't be any in store available today. I could have phoned my local apple store but somehow (I guess the recent ipad launch had influenced me) it just didn't cross my mind that they 'd have any today, seeing from the forums as they didn't have any in most U.S stores. So I just called up the web store to check on pricing and availability.

Apple store here I come tomorrow though. :D

None in Toronto Canada. I also heard from a reseller friend of mine that although they are made in China, they ship them all back to USA first. Perhaps packaging or distribution happens in USA. It would make sense that Apple control all supply chain worldwide from the states...less chance of errors followed by dealing with another government and laws.

Thoughts?

BS. When I ordered my BTO MBP & iMac i7 they came from China straight to me in the UK and AUS. They didn't take a detour to be blessed by SJ's or tour the Grand Canyon !

@Moodikar

They go through the US first because Apple uses UPS for its freight shipping out of China - to that end, UPSs main distribution hub for North America is in Louisville.

So I imagine that B2B (like those going to resellers) shipments come from Shanghai > Louisville > Wherever they need to go.

No blessings from the master and no Grand Canyon tour? I've lost all respect for my macs. I am personally going to take them on that tour they missed and then to 4 infinite loop for the HIS blessings.
