You also have access to AT&T Hotspots if your a subscriber to AT&T DSL Home Service (Basic, Express, Pro or Elite package).
Why would you?
If you have a mac and use Safari, go to the Safari Preferences>Advanced and check the box that says "Show Develop menu in menu bar."
Then, when you go to Starbucks or where ever, go to Develop>User Agent and click on an iPhone version. AT&T will think you're an iPhone and you're welcome in![]()

in the latest newsletter the say next month they will have info on a ipad plan.Perhaps Boingo will allow the iPad to be a $7.95/mo device?
http://www.boingo.com/
Oh wait, it's not FREE.....
how come we don't get access to it?
If it is that simple, then wouldn't it seem likely that they would employ a similar method to check on the iPad? Or will there be two user agents, for example: iPad and iPad3g? In easy code: if agent = iPad3g then allowAccess(), else return false?
In addition, what about 3g owners who are not paying for their current month? Payment is month to month on the device.
What about iPhone owners? We are already paying AT&T, you'd think that they would extend the love our way, but who knows.
This all leads me to believe that all iPad owners will probably get access just because it seems complicated for them to implement. Not that I believe that iPad owners have some inherent right--they don't. It just seems like they could get access for no reason other than lack of ability to tell if they're on an AT&T plan currently. Anyone familiar with how AT&T can tell who wants to shed some light on this? If its a simple user agent, it could be difficult.
