I've ordered the new iMac (my 1st mac) and I've been reading about how everyone here has problems with it like dead pixels, bleeding, and tints on the screen. Just how common are these? I'm kind of worried that mine will be like that too. Should I have waited for a while to let Apple fix all of this?

LCD's will always be a lottery. And dead pixels will always be a problem.
But it seems that they got a bad batch really. These tint issues aren't normal and I really doubt that they would use a panel that normally looks like that.
It breaks my heart to return it cause it's perfect otherwise. No dead pixels, no backlight bleeding.
Mine's BTO. If I need to return it because of defects, will I have to pay a fee to get it replaced and how long does it take to get the new one? Same as this one? Thanks!
LCD monitors will always occasionally have dead pixels. But two iMacs we bought at work and one I bought at home were perfect.
People only post problems of course - nobody starts topics saying 'my iMac's screen is perfect', for obvious reasons.

I've owned a 20" and now a 24". Neither have any dead pixels or anomalous tints. The 24" does have a little bit of backlight bleed, but it's not bad enough to cause me any concern.
