how did you get your 3GS into dfu mode?

i know how to do it..i have jailbroken over 100 times. and i have put my phone into dfu mode many many times..but i cant seem to get my 3gs into dfu mode..any suggestions / anyone have the same problem

I've never had a problem doing it. Have you tried it on different computers? I know the 10.5.6 update for OSX messed up dfu mode.

The timing seems to be important.

yeah i know this.. and i make sure i do it at the same exact time..but its still not working
