Have had jb on ip5 since it was released and love it...have tried the troubleshooting steps to determine my severe battery drain....tempted to go back to stock but have never had an ip5 in stock form longer than a few weeks...bad move?

I believe it's not the jailbreak causing battery drain. It's the tweaks you install after jailbreaking that effect the battery.

Ok, let me rephrase....will stock provide better batter life than a JB device using tweaks?

There is no one-size-fits-all answer to that question. Battery drain all depends on the tweaks you use and how they're configured.

I agree.

I usually get a days usage out of my JB iPhone 5.

Lots of tweaks have been known to suffer from memory leak etc.

Like ^^^ I get a days usage out of my iPhone with a long list of tweaks installed, auxo and iblacklist included. I do know when the tweaks I had were pirated my battery life sucked. When I bought all my tweaks, my issues were gone.

^^^Same here.

About a day. My day starts between 5:45 or 6:30am and closes out at 12:30pm or so. Usually by then I have around 50% remaining, depending on usage.

It helps that because of frigging Sprint I'm on WiFi most of the day. However, I do have Smart 3G+LTE which switches my radios on/off depending on if I am on WiFi or not. That helps a lot.

Staying on 3G in Sprint's crappy service area drains the battery because the phone is always trying to find a better signal. There is no Sprint LTE in Phoenix, AZ if you're wondering why I'm on 3G.

Lastly, coming from an HTC Touch Pro this is actually the battery life I am accustomed to, so while others may go days on their iPhones before recharging that has never been the smartphone experience for me. Even when my iPhone was stock.

None of my tweaks are pirated. I can't make it a full day but I do use Twitter a lot, along with phone and email...I have 4 email accounts (1 gmail, 1 push exchange and 2 manual retrieve exchange). It's just noticeably worse with no real reasoning behind it...I even disabled Springtomize.

Push exchange account, that would be where I would start.
