Woke up like a kid on Christmas morning (in fact, I had a hard time sleeping last night) just to find out it was just another typical day.

I'm not crushed or anything but sadly dissapointed that nothing went down today.

I am going to hold out one more week but was curious as to how some of the others felt today.

I'm with ya Tizod

Like I mentioned before...I have a MBP from last summer, so I am set...just not happy with the graphics (128M Nvidia) in the 15" 2.2ghz version. About similar performance as I will get with any of the IMacs available...

I am anxiously awaiting a graphics boost in the current lineup...just as they have done in the MBP lineup:)

Not crushed...just anxiously awaiting!

Jeremy

The updated iMacs will appear when you least expect it. Don't think for one moment that you will only hold out for "One More Week". You'll find yourself saying that next week if no new iMacs appear.
If you have no need for a computer right now by all means keep waiting like everybody and their grandmother did for the MBP's but if you need a new Mac buy after next Tuesday if nothing happens.

Don't expect anything more than a processor upgrade to Penryn and although the opposite is possible there may not be any new GPU update other than possibly more video ram. The iMacs casing was just revamped after 3 years of the same look so don't expect anything new aesthetically.

One thing to note, the current iMac is an update from a 12 month wait.
So for me, I'm not disappointed.

I can see a 512MB vram option in the 24" imacs.

What are you waiting for? Do you think Apple is going to release an iMac, next week, with a Blu-Ray drive and a top of the line GPU? If anything, it would only be a slight bump in speed and something where you would have to have the "old" iMac and "new" iMac side by side to tell the difference anyway. That's the only way I can tell the difference between my slightly older Macbook and my coworker's brand new one.

Want it? Buy it!

I was disappointed too. I was hoping to be able to weigh the new features and cost of the updated mini and the discounted cost of the previous version. Ah well... getting pretty good at this waiting thing.

I'm buying now.

I'm driving from Bakersfield up to Apple Store - Fashion Fair in Fresno. Since CompUSA died, the only place in Bakersfield that sells Macs is Best Buy. By driving up to Fresno, I'll save $100 (education discount). I know it's not necessarily worth the round trip, but I'll also be able to visit an Apple store for the first time.

For those of you continuing the vigil for Penryn or Montevina iMacs, I salute you. ;)

My wife and I often need to use the Mac at the same time for work, so it will be great to finally have two to share. It's a beautiful day outside, it's spring break, and it's the perfect time for me to set up a new Mac. If the new ones come out next week, I'll read about it on my one-week-old iMac 24".

By the way, thanks to any of you who may have mentioned the deal on Muskin RAM at Newegg. My order is in.

What's there to be disappointed about?

If you want a speed bump, get the 2.8GHz Core 2 Extreme (most of you are getting the 2.4 anyway).

If you want a better video card, get the white iMac.

It's not like they're going to update the design or include Blu-Ray, nor are they going quad-core anytime soon.

why wait?

I'm not disappointed one bit...I just went to the local Apple store today and picked up a 2.4ghz 24" iMac and just got it set up and fully updated. I am incredibly happy with the purchase so far and have no regrets. Can't wait for my 4gb crucial kit to come in tomorrow. It is quite an upgrade from a 15" 1.5ghz Powerbook G4, no complaints here.

My advice (worth only as much as anyone elses) to anyone playing the waiting game: Stop waiting and just do it if you need a computer now. You'll be beating yourself up week after week like I did bouncing back and forth between options and saying to yourself "just one more week, just one more".

Off to play with my new toy :D

Well, with 6-core processors coming, you might want to wait:

http://www.betanews.com/article/Sixcore_Intel_processors_coming_this_year/1205790710

And in a few years (or less) there will even be 12-core processors, so it may pay to wait even longer!:D

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. If you're really that disappointed, buy one already! That sounds like what you want to hear.

I'm not disappointed at all. I bought my iMac two weeks ago knowing that my iMac model was from last summer and a new one may be coming soon. I upgraded the memory to 3GB and I am extremely happy. It's not worth waiting to buy just for a slightly faster processor and a bigger HD.

I knew there would not be anything new this morning because they already released the new product this week on Monday which was the Airport Express.

Move on, stop holding your breath and buy now if you need a new computer now.

Disappointed?

Hardly...

My Boss just emailed me that my new MacbookPro 2.4 /7200RPM Glossy is in.

And, well... if they'd announced new Mac Pros... I mighta jumped off a bridge...:D

Stop beating yourself up.

For $500 i will sent over a 300lb brute to do it for you, likely with a smile on his face (and a chance at a maniacal laugh.)

I'm waiting...

For the PS9.. I saw a commercial for it a few years back.. any minute now.. just waiting...

I'm the slightest bit disappointed, but not really... if you'll all allow me to gloat for a minute, below is the order I placed today :D I've been waiting for the past few weeks to upgrade my 12" PBG4, and today was the day I told myself I'd upgrade regardless of whether there were new iMacs or not. I've used the 2.8ghz 24" iMac at the Apple store so many times now that I know that it's more than enough power for what I need, so I'm totally psyched :) And with the money I saved (I bought a refurb model), I bought 4GB of RAM from OWC for $99. Now, in a few months, if it's in the budget, I can get a MBA... so now I start hoping that they do updates on that... haha :)

any update for the imac would be negledgable, just in order for intel to concentrate on set of chips, it would maybe run cooler, thats all, they might bundle 2 GB as standard but that so cheap 3rd party i bought a week or two ago.
