Let's say I have a Bluetooth HomeKit device. Let's say a temperature sensor. In order to get the sensor data from a phone it has to connect to device directly via Bluetooth which is slow and not always successful.

If an Apple HomePod would be introduced as a hub will the device be permanently connected to it? Say, will "Hey Siri, what is the temperature in ..." bring an immediate result or does the HomePod have to establish connection with the device each time in order to get data?

Also while checking data from the phone will it query HomePod or end-device? In case of former will it be via Wi-Fi and would it be any faster and reliable than Bluetooth?

I have bluetooth homekit lights from Sylvania. They use HomePod as a hub and yes, within a second turn on via the home app if pressed or "Hey Siri turn on the lights".
