This may be a dumb question but my new Macbook Pro display fades out after a few minutes of nonuse..Now I know there a way to set that "time out" period but for the life of me, I can't seem to find any information on it.

You know when you're not doing anything and all of a sudden the screen goes to a light fade..then you touch the trackpad and it brightens up again..
Mine seems to be set for a couple of minutes and i would like to lengthen that as it gets a bit annoying.

Don't laugh...it's frustrating...

Is this still the same with Big Sur? Wanted to help someone over the phone but his MacBook Air didn’t have the little lightbulb symbol that I have on my Mini. Thought it would be somewhere hidden away under battery settings but no luck.

In Big Sur, Apple changed the old Energy Saver system preference pane to Battery for notebook computers.

Macworld has an article that explains it for Big Sur:

As you can see naturally the display sleep settings still exist.

Unsurprisingly there are official Apple support documents on this topic:

albeit without the helpful screen shots.
