one of my young cousins has signed on the dotted line so just to give him an idea of what to expect i used handbrake to convert scene 2 from Full Metal Jacket (ya know where gunny meets his maggots) to mp4 i was planning on emailing it as an attachment . . . . problem is all i have is 56k dial up connection to internet and this clip is right at 48mb . . . . what can i do to compress it to a more sendable size? also he uses winders (remember he signed on the dotted line???) or do i need to plan on an all night upload to email?

You can use iMovie, and export it into a smaller file, but it will loose its quality. Or use Handbrake again and change the video bit rate, and also the change the sound rate down, that will cut down on its size. But your cousin will need to turn up the volume.

It'll be tricky to make it good quality at a low low size. If it were me, I would leave it on an all night upload cos there is nothing worse than watching picasso style movies :p How are you surviving on a dial up! You poor soul!
