How do I connect a Wireless Magic Mouse that didn't come with my Mac, when reinstalling Mac OS to fa

Hi all,



I'm running into an issue I can't figure out. When reinstalling Mac OS X on a machine, and using a wireless Magic Mouse that I bought and did NOT come with the iMac, how do I connect this store bought Wireless Magic Mouse, to the iMac during the OS X setup screen. It's giving me pictures to turn on the wireless keyboard and mouse that came with the system, but I don't have those anymore.

This setup assumes you are in Mac OS already. I’m in the beginning setup stage when you reset your Mac to factory default. System preferences are not even accessible yet in this stage

Find an old wired USB mouse and plug that in just for the initial setup. And keyboard if relevant.

This is one of those times when a wired USB mouse, and probably a keyboard, is good to have.
