Okay, I see all these instructions for installing applications and whatnot to the Apple TV but I have NO idea how to get these files on there!
How do you do this, and can it be done without removing the hard drive?

The new (2010) Apple TV does not have a hard drive. It must be jailbroken using PwnageTool on a Mac. Then you use SSH to upload files.

Well I have an old Apple TV, which I thought you could figure out.

But yes I have iTunes, Windows 7 and XP machines, and working Tiger and Snow Leopard virtual machines.

K how do I use SSH to do this

No need, if the following is true:

Is your Apple TV not recognised by iTunes? How do you connect the Apple TV to your PC? Does the User Guide give you no clue?

talking about adding PLUGINS for a HACKED apple TV

I don't really care about moving apple propitiatory video files to it, what's the fun in that

Goolgle ATVFlash and atvusb-creator. One is paid and one is free. They'll get you where you need to go.

k I'm not sure if anyone picked up on this yet, but my Apple TV is already hacked and stuff

I just need to figure out how to access it and add new plugins and such

How has it been hacked?

basic patchstick hack with ssh boxee and xbmc

still need to know how to remotely access the apple tv though

on a side note, anyone know how to fix connecting to other windows pcs but being blocked by needing a username/pass
