As per the title.

I've been advised a few times how to do it, but I can't find the posts!

Exactly what do I have to copy over, and what do I do once the folders/files are on the M1 MBP?

I'm currently copying the entire Music folder from my iMac to an external drive.

Thanks in advance for your help ...

Should be as simple as moving the folder & contents over, then ensuring the Music app is looking in the proper spot.

Set the folder in Music app -> Preferences -> Files

Location on my system is "/Macintosh HD/Users/deeddawg/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music"

I appreciate the info.

However, the structure is different between my ageing iMac and new MBP. This must be different because of changes between the old OS on my iMac, and Big Sur on my MBP.

I'm copying the files over, and will just have to tinker around.

I thought this was going to be much easier. I'm confused.

I was on Catalina on the source system. How far back were you? I simply copied the folder from the CCC clone backup and launched the Music app. Easy Peasy

What isn't working?

I'm coming from El Capitan.

The file structure is different, but I finally sorted it.

Just hope things don't go wrong.
