How do I delete iMovie?

“iMovie” can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by Mac OS X.

I keep getting that message.

Open Terminal and type:

rm -r "path to iMovie"

if this does not work

sudo rm -r "path to iMovie"

You can also drag iMovie on terminal after you typed the command and a space after -r

I've deleted everything associated with the app but there is a folder containing two subfolders that I cannot delete.

So does the "sudo rm -r "path to folder/file" not work on this?
Should do the trick since sudo gives you all the rights.

I guess it doesn't. Can you try it on your machine to see what's up?

I won't try this because I don't want to delete it, and I have an earlier OS so if it works on mine it might not on yours.
What I think is happening here is that the OS automatically recreates the folder, many folders are needed by the OS and are recreated faster than the eye can see.
