hi there trying to make a really basic website using photoshop and dreamweaver, i would like to add two forms to two of my pages one with two boxes for name and email adress and submit buttom, so people can sign up to the newletter.

and on another page a contact form three boxes, name subject and and the message,

i did a Google search but didn't find anything,

any help tips or info would really be appreciated as i'm fairly new to dreamweaver,

cheers rema

You need to use some sort of specific programming language to do this, it's really not DW related. I would guess there are hundreds of free scripts that will guide you to this, and not only that try doing a search here, I think someone posted the code to something like this not to long ago.

hiya been looking into this trough google and seem to be coming across alot of site that want me to pay them or advertise on my form, i dont want to do neither,

i read on one site that i can use them to design the form and then handle the server side myself would you know what this would entail,

are there any other solutions to this and technically how to the forms work, is it simply just an email sent to me with the information from th form

thanks for quick reply and info

wow thanks you very much i will take a look thought,

cheers

not sure if its just my luck but i've spent a long time looking through that site and a lot of the links are broken and take me to pages that no longer exist, the ones that do work that i have tried are for sites that want to advertise themselves, or want me to pay them,

can anyone suggest any other solutions

kind regards rema

Not sure who you are hosting with, but godaddy has a script already on your site when you sign up. All you have to do is link the form to the .php file and set up an email in the account manager and you are done. It is super easy if you do not know how to code php or any other language like that

If you're feeling courageous you can try a PHP tutorial that will walk you through the steps to make your own form. Pixel2Life has a lot of tutorials like this. It's not very hard in the end, but quite confusing at first. :)

jdl8422, im not sure i will ask them i know the support Php,

Sherb, thanks for link i tried it out and i got it to work but it only send me black emails with the information messing i did tweak the code, because i only want name and email and wanted a red sans-serif font

Another thought would be to create the form, and hire somebody to do the mail form for you. You could probably find someone to do it for less than $50.

The nice thing about hiring it out is that you could have a real expert do it. Somebody who knows how to protect you from spambots, security holes that allow spammers to relay through your forms, etc.

I'm considering doing this myself. Some of my forms collect way too much spam. It gets very frustrating.
