Long story short I'm an idiot and didn't backup my phone prior to updating to iOS 10.0.1 yesterday. I thought I had, but I didn't. So is there a way to connect to iTunes and downgrade back to 9.3.5? iOS 10 is awful so far. Very hot phone, horrible battery life, noticing some issues with notification sounds being off. Ideas?

Find the .ipsw file, the option+click on restore iPhone. If you don't have a backup, you will have to restore as a new phone, IIRC. You can't restore a backup from iOS 10 to iOS 9.

You might want to try resetting all settings first to see if that might help, or perhaps even reinstalling iOS 10 (that is unless you just don't want to be on iOS 10 in general, at least at the moment).

What kind of phone? iOS 10 is a pretty solid update.

Which iPhone?

And you can try a backup and restore. Sounds weird, but Apple has suggested that twice to me and it fixed all my weird issues.

The performance/battery can be affected by indexing after the install also, so keep that it mind.

If you have an iCloud backup you can use that instead.

It's a 6s. I like most of the new features and will use it in the future, but for now I wanna go back to having my battery last an entire day.
Sorry you're having trouble. Battery is pretty reasonable on my year-old 6s. Maybe a little less but it's likely due to me playing with it and the new features (I've been using the GM release for a week now).
