how do I download 100apple from iphone to MacBook air

A little background. I bought my iPhone in the USA and brought it to Thailand with me. It's 16gb and 3.1 version.

I had it unlocked in Bangkok and Cydia is installed on it. I took 258 photos with it and didn't pay attention to the fact that it had only one photo album named 100APPLE.

Then on November 9th the phone apparently on its own started a new album called Camera Roll. The phone was never connected to the internet until last night (Nov 17th) when I spoke with Applecare for 1 1/2 hours.

Previously I downloaded apps I bought on iTunes without being connected to the internet.

The senior Applecare rep. I spoke with last night was not able to tell me how I can download the photos on 100APPLE photo album to my MacBook air.


Can anyone help?

You could try one of these 3 suggestions...

Get a paid Cydia app called iFile and wirelessly beam the contents of ~/var/mobile/Media/DCIM/100APPLE to your laptop.

...or go the DiskAid/FileAid route (available on the AppStore) and do the same thing via USB (faster).

...or simply plug your iPhone and fire up MacOS's Image Capture app (free with paid admission) and import them that way. (quickest & cheapest)

Well, camera roll is the default name for where photos are viewed when using the "photos" app to view them.

In reality, they are stored in the DCIM folder in the phone's file system. I believe it is inside another folder named 100Apple (I think you can create multiple folders inside the DCIM folder, like 101Apple, etc)

Sounds like you don't really understand much about your phone yet.

Attach your phone to your MacBook Air and open iPhoto, it will pull "all" your photos off the camera to your computer. You can then delete them off the camera or leave a copy on the camera.

That is the simplest way to do what you want.

Apple products play well together.
