I know how to export to PDF the most recent messages by tediously scrolling back the iMessages thread from my friend on my MacBook Pro then printing them to PDF.
BUT HERE IS THE PROBLEM: scrolling back goes slower and slower and I can only go back about a year before iMessages app crashes (probably due to lack of memory??). I want to download EVERY message as far back as they are stored (in cloud or in proprietary data store).
Any help would be appreciated.

- Is there a utility that does this? Ideally I'd be willing to pay 30 bucks for a utility where I can select "export all iMessage threads on this MacBook Pro to pdf automatically." I found a commercial app that may do this for iPhones but not Macs.
- Are these old iMessages stored in iCloud (is that why it slows down as I scroll back?)
- or are all these messages stored somewhere deep inside a file or database on my MacBook Pro?
Any help would be appreciated.
