How do I edit a PDF file?

I was using the "Typewriter" function in Adobe Acrobat 7, but I noticed that Adobe doesn't offer a tryout for Mac. What else can I use?
 
I don't have it installed on my PB, but I've used PDFPen on a friend's iBook to edit a PDF.

Free demo, $50 for a license ...
