how do I fix a forgotten passcode on a Samsung Galaxy Tab?

So, I bought my husband a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" about half a year ago, but he's a bit of a luddite and he only used it for about six weeks. So, now we're going to give it to my mother who is pretty excited about it. However, my husband's forgotten what the security code is so I can't get in there to clean out his emails etc and reset it to factory settings. How can I reset it so I can get it ready for my mother?
