I am trying to do a clean format of my Mac. When I restart into Disk Utility, on the left it doesn't show me the proper partitions for my hard drive, it just says "Macinstosh SSD", with that bit greyed out, and then no drop down options to select the correct volume to format. Picture below shows what's on my screen.

Any help or ideas? Thank you!!

You've got the right volume selected. Click the Erase button to continue.

I thought that it was supposed to show the main Hard Drive like you see in my screenshot, but then a drop down menu to the correct partition to format, like in the screenshot below. I'm worried since I don't have the drop down, if I select erase on that main hard drive volume it'll screw everything up? Am I just way off base here?

Genius haha, thank you!! This partition looks correct in terms of all the information, but I've never seen it labeled as "Container disk2" before. Do you think it's still fine to proceed with erasing?
