How do I format this beast?

I got my MBP n i been lookin around tryin to figure out how to format so I can free up a little space since I need all I can get..but I cant figure it out.. did some searchin and im just tired can any1 help? I wanna start messin around with it lol

Format means to completely "reset" a drive to a state where no data exists on the drive. Is this what you mean? If so, just insert your Mac OSX cd and follow the instructions.

Do you perhaps mean partition?

You could do Erase and Install and check Customize button to select the Applications you want to install.

I read that its good to format your macbook pro when u get it to get rid of things that I wont be needing so thats what im tryin to do..this would be Erase and Install or another way?
