Hi,
I have a synology NAS and a Jailbroken ATV2 with xbmc installed.
My AVI files are on the NAS.

Please how do I map the xbmc to connect to the folder on my NAS that contains my AVI files?

Does ATV2 connect to NAS using SMB or AFP?

.... I tried but just cant seem to find the NAS or the Drive.

Thanks

Haven't gone the XBMC route in awhile, but it should be able to access via SMB. Are you sure you have the login credentials correct?.

I am having no luck at all :(

I created a user called media and enabled AFS/NFS on the NAS.

So I went on to xbmc -> AddVideos -> Browse

the following were listed:-
Network Filesyste (NFS)
UPnP Device
Windows network (SMB)
Zeroconf Browser
Add network location....

so where to next ?

Select zeroconf browser, there you should see your drive under Samba (SMB), select it and that should be it. I was using AFP, but it was using the IP address assigned by my ISP which would change and I would lose my share connection, the SMB setting solved that by using the IP address oif my AEBS which seems to be static.

Took me a while to fiqure this out, the downside of XBMC and Plex is the documentation is often lacking or overly technical, so you need to scour the webs for info....but hey, its good stuff for free so no complaints once it is all working.
