How do I get Epson ES-300W portable scanner to show on preview

The scanner is installed but I can only use it through Epson's scanning app. I have tried adding it through System Preferences using the IP address, but it gets added as a printer. This is only a scanner. I need to use it through Preview and, I guess because it is not listed in System Preferences, Printers & Scanner, it doesn't show up listed in Preview.

Connect the scanner using USB. If you still can't scan using preview, it's unlikely that scanning wirelessly through Preview will be possible. You'll have to use
"Epson Scan 2"
