PC user for a number of years. Made the jump to Apple; received my iMac Saturday. Started using it, but don't really know how to navigate.

Also, during the initial start up, I took a picture when it asked if I wanted to do one. Where is it in the computer? I would like to edit it. Thanks.

Thanks for your replies.
I was reading on the malware and viruses: So, we don't have to download any anti-virus or malware programs? Mac can safely run without these?

Thanks again!

If you don't want to see the yellow tint and grey bars... DO NOT do the test. You WILL end up seeing blotches and it will forever affect your usage and feelings towards the machine.

Once again... do not open Pandora's Box.

Enjoy your iMac. Most do... until they realize what the test reveals.

You've been warned!!! :)

You shouldn't have mentioned it to him LOL!

Welcome to the world of Mac, your bank account will never be the same

In terms of being a new Mac user, there are many useful maintenance applications, one of which I'd recommend is OnyX, which is a great application for cleaning utilities etc. Depends entirely what you want to do though, the favourite application for ripping movies etc is Handbrake.

Our 21.5 runs great. It is much faster than our loved G4 iMac. We haven't done any of the 'tests.' We got it and turned it on and followed the directions. Currently it is flawless.

David Pogue has a good book "Switching to the Mac:The Missing Manual, Snow Leopard Edition", which is a good book for people switching to the Mac from windows and does an excellent job explaining the differences.

Bollocks!
Now, I'm curious as to what you guys are talking about. I am just wondering what we need to install to stop/block what I hated happening on a PC.

I bought the iMac; I enjoy it tremendously; It cost an arm and a leg, but I need to know what's on the Dark Side of The Moon!

Thanks again.
