Apologies for my naiveté but I've recently switched to MacBook Air. I would very much like to watch video clips from my local newspaper but when I click to watch I'm told I don't have the plug-in/MIME. It leads me to a page for download but all that does is give me a document in Text Edit. It appears as hieroglyphics/gobbledygook. Is anyone able to tell me what I should do to get this really wonderful little machine to play Windows style video clips?

Download the Flip4Mac plugin for Quicktime.

This will let you play WMV clips.

Thank you. Took a couple of goes (probably me) but works well. Except I have to launch it before playing a video clip. Is that normal?

You only have to launch it once to install. Once it's installed you don't need the installer or launching it anymore.
