how do I ghost a hard drive in OS-X

I have a disk with tiger and leopard on it and I want to copy it to a new larger hard drive and then boot from the new one. How do I go about it. I've tried disk utilities and it won't allow it as resources are in use. Is there a pre boot tool or something I can use. It's a Mac Pro and I've got the new disk in bay 4 with the one I want to copy in bay 1.

Run Disk Utility from the Leopard install DVD. You can also do a blockcopy from there (check "erase destination"), which is faster than file copy.

edit: make sure permissions are enabled on the target drives (uncheck "ignore permissions" from Finder Get Info on each target volume) Restore will make bootable backups. I've been using it for a long time to make image backups and to setup new drives.
