Gimp will not load properly on Snow Leopard. I have looked through the forums on here and other sites, and while it seems to be a big problem, I can't find any solutions. I figure if anyone knows what the problem is and how to fix it, the answer would be here.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks dmz. I've tried that before and tried it again, still nothing. Gimp will try to load for quite a longtime, then when it finally does the window is about 600 % larger than my screen and I can't open any gimp preferences or alternate windows. Also it nearly crashes my mac everytime I try it. I don't get it. Worked fine on Leopard.

I think I may have found the solution!!!!! So I went into users>Library>Application Support>Gimp
Then I erased the contents and folders, then reinstalled. So far so good! It's like Christmas early!

Great News!

That's great! It's always a good idea when doing a major upgrade to the OS to check those prefs - especially if you use Migration Assistant. I'm glad that's all it was, good sleuthing!
