How do I install old Parallels?

Earlier I installed Parallels 9 on my MBA and in Windows got the famous blue screen and forgot about it..

Now I need to install it again but I have no luck.

I download the file as the original document suggests and then I click the file.
The file says it wont install until I install via the dmg file which I do.

Spiral into abyss starts. Click the dmg -> the dmg says "install the dmg". I click the dmg and it says "install the dmg".

What can I do to install my legally purchased software?

If you're on the latest macOS you need up to date Parallels or version before ideally.

I use Parallels 9 on my Mac running Sierra.
