so i now have my imac g3, i have panther installed on it already, but how do i install 0s 9 as well? i know panther has classic support but thats not what im looking for, i want to actually be able to boot into os 9. any help would be appreciated, thanks!

only or certain machines though, about 3-4 years ago I think they stopped dual boot OS9 capability.

Drivers could be a problem also.

but how will i switch between the two os's?

In OS 9, there's the startup disk control panel, and i believe its the same in OS X as well. MIght even be able to use the technique where you hold down the option key at startup. never had that model iMac, so I don't know if it works like that or not. Point is, its not difficult to do.

You can switch between by either using the Startup Disk Control Panel/System Preference, by holding down option at startup, holding "x" to boot into OS X or "9" to boot into OS9.
