I have the .iso file on my computer but Bootcamp wants a DVD. If I don't want to do this, what type of software do I need? I've heard of VirtualBox but not sure if it's for Bootcamp. My version of parallels easily installed the iso file, but I want to delete that Windows partition and have Parallels run a bootcamp partition instead.

Whenever I try and put 2 GB file on a blank DVD, it shows up as a 44 KB file even though it says that 2 GB of the disc is taken up and Bootcamp says that the installation DVD isn't available. What virtualization software do I use?

I put it on a DVD using a program a friend recommended and finally got Windows 7 installed via Bootcamp. That's the 2nd Windows 7 I have on my computer. How do I get rid of the partition that Parallels put by iteself and how do I get Parallels to pick up the Bootcamp partition?

You can actually use Disk Utility to burn ISO files to DVD. If you drag an ISO onto a DVD in the Finder, it will not burn the ISO, just make a data disc with the ISO file on it.

Parallels has a Remove... option in the File menu which allows you to delete a virtual machine. This is probably the best way. If you prefer, Parallels stores virtual its machines in ~/Documents/Parallels (~ means your user folder). You can delete the file inside that folder to recover the space.

To get Parallels to use your BootCamp partition, create a new virtual machine, choose Skip Detection, choose your version of Windows, and choose Custom. When it asks you about a virtual hard disk, you should be able to select Boot Camp Partition if one exists.

Wow, can't thank you enough, that was a TREMENDOUS help, I was eager to get rid of all that extra space that the Parallels partition was taking. Straight and to the point, you definitely know what you're doing, great help!

EDIT: Once again, the Parallels partition can not connect to the internet, but when in bootcamp, it works just fine. This is honestly more advantageous because then I can't possibly get a virus through the Windows partition (I already installed Avast on it anyways) and if I'm in parallels, I can always use the Mac's internet to get what I need. Still, I would like to know if this is a common problem and if there is a way to fix it. I told Parallels to use the Mac OSX's internet btw.

check out simplyburns..a free cd/dvd burning software that is in my mind far superior to the osx burning abilities. You can burn without verifying..which takes 2x longer to burn the dvd, and it is really easy to burn .iso files to dvds.
