I just got my macbook back today for RSD problems and I'm installing the 2GB of Ram I use to have in there. Everything is runnign fine but when I run memtest it's processing A LOT slower than normal. My "about mac" says that it detects 2GBs tho. Is there something wrong?

How do I know if I seated the RAm properly on my Macbook?

Is it running longer compared with when you last had 2GB installed? It'll take longer if you have more RAM installed. Also, if it wasn't installed properly then it probably wouldn't be showing in About This Mac plus your machine would be unstable. 
turn on your computer. if it boots without an error, you're probably all set. double check by looking in the system profiler at the list of RAM you have. if it's all there, then you've done it correctly.
if you have RAM installed incorrectly, when you try to boot it either wont start up, or will make noises (usually loud beep)
