my 2007 imac needs a new system drive. what are the key specs that i need to know and look for, in terms of compatibility, when choosing the new drive for my dinosaur? i'm wondering if SSD is an option or not given its age. would there be any storage capacity amount that wouldn't work? 2TB is all i really need so i'd like to think that wouldn't be an issue.

Look to Crucial for available SSDs to fit your system. They can check your system compatibility. I have several Crucial SSDs in my different Macs.

You need a 3.5 inch SATA drive, or a 2.5 inch drive with an adapter. That’s all you need to know. Any hard drive or SSD that meets those simple criteria will work.
