How do I lock the screen manually, if this is missing then ...grrr...apple...

I don't want to wait even for the least amount of time as in one minute for the screen to auto lock, as soon as I finish a call and I have my iphone at hand I don't want to accidentally keep touching the screen and calling people I don't want to call, this minute is way too much. I want functionality like my nokia had with 1 and then pres # (if I remember correctly) to just lock the screen, i.e. the keys, i.e. the icons) myself and not wait for any amount of time for the phone to self lock. CAN I JUST LOCK THE SCREEN MYSELF APPLE INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR X,Y,Z MINUTES to self lock?

is there an app offering such functionality?

got it, new to (very easily scratching PLASTIC SCREEN) iphone, but still amazed by it and the app store.

Is this a joke? You seriously bought the phone and didn't know that the screen is glass or that it has a lock button right there on the top?
