I want to make a new album (not a playlist) from existing tracks on different albums.
The idea is to re-create the original album that has been re-issued in different forms. I want to get back to the original release.

Make a playlist of the songs you wanna have one album name of, select all, right click, get info and change the album name.

Beware it will not create duplicates, it will override the old album names the tracks had in them.

You could duplicate the songs on the Finder level first via dragging the songs from the playlist to a folder on your Desktop or open Finder window, then drag them back into a new playlist and change the album name then.

Or....

That worked! I made a new playlist after having duplicated the tracks in finder on the desktop. Then imported them to a new playlist, changed the album title and artwork, then deleted the playlist and bingo! all done.

Thanks !:)
