I purchased a song on iTunes.

The song is downloaded and plays just fine on my iPhone and Mac.

When I sync my iPad to the Mac it does not copy over this song. When I try and play this song on the iPad it invites me to sign up for Apple Music.

All devices are signed into the same iCloud account.

Does anyone know how to get the iPad to see this purchased song and let me play it?

Many thanks.

M.

- When you open iTunes on your iPad and tap the Purchased link at the bottom, does the song show as Purchased?
- If you download it and tap Play, it will open the Apple Music app. Even if you get the join prompt, you should see an option in the upper right that says "Not Now". This allows you to use the app for your purchases without using the subscription service.
- In the Apple Music app > Library, you should see your purchased content.

Do any of these steps help?

thanks for your reply, i ended up signing out of my icloud account, restarted the iPad and signed back in again. I then synced my music library again and all the music has now appeared on the iPad.

thanks again.

I had that same issue. I could just go into the purchased section of iTunes as @Namara suggested. The songs were there with a download cloud icon. I'm guessing it's not automatic to add on the iPad? If I buy things on the iPad they automatically appear on the Mac in iTunes with no issue though. Must be an option I've missed.
