I want to install linux onto my iPod; however, I have a 5th generation iPod, which is not supported by the installer. I opened up the installers files and everything I need is in there, I just don't know what to do with them... does anyone have any experience with this because I have no idea what I'm doing.

Ive installed rock box on my 5th gen. (I think rock box is a variant of linux, right?) It was VERY easy to do. If rock box can do what you want try that. Also very easy to uninstall.

hate

I hate rockbox...for some reason ipodlinux.org is no longer active and the installation instructions for the 5th generation ipod disappeared with it...I have seriously searched the whole f***ing internet on how to do this and no one seems to know or just hasn't posted on it
