How can I safely overclock my 2.2 MBP SR without damaging any hardware without using windows XP to do it?? I realize that that the MBP is already ridiculously hot, reaching temps like 80 celsius without smcFanControl running, but is there a safe way of overclocking both the GPU and the video card as well??
thanks in advance.

I don't know of any program available on OSX which allows you to over clock. Also i wouldn't use it if there was. Then again i don't much like 2k paper weights...

the GPU *is* the video card

I am not a fan of overclocking laptops (especially if you're a newb), but this should work.

EDIT: I just saw you want to do it in OS X...try this ute in a virtual machine...don't blame me if your computer dies though...

Do you really NEED to overclock or is it just to say that you did it? You could overheat the comp. That would be bad. And it would void the warranty if Apple found out.

And it never seem to make things run that much faster (Celeron 300A, some Opterons and Core 2 Duo might be a few exceptions, but then those will waste so much more electricity and need as much better cooling that you could just aswell had bought the better cpu from the begining.)
