How do i permanently change device aliases in Open Firmware?

I have an iBook G3 with an optical drive hardcoded to master. To make this work, I had to jumper my hard drive to slave. Everything works as expected, except in Open Firmware, the alias called cd points to my hard drive, and the alias called hd points to my cd drive, which is mildly inconvenient. I can change this temporarily using the devalias command, but I am looking for a way to make the change more permanent, at least so that it lasts until the next time i reset my pram.
