I just used pwnage tool to attempt to jailbreak my iPhone 3G on my new unibody macbook. I was all the way through to the end until I realized that the new macbooks and new software do not recognize DFU mode on the iPhone.

I found a link with a program automator script that fixes DFU and sets it back to 10.5.5. After installing it, everything went smoothly, my computer rebooted, etc etc.

However, I still cannot get my iTunes to restore my iPhone with my custom ipsw.

I'm going to try to pick up a USB hub later today. 2 questions.

1. How do I remove this Fix DFU 10.5.6? I just want my computer back to normal.

2. Once I get a usb hub, is it possible to simply click on "restore iPhone" while holding the alt/option button to load the custom ipsw that pwnage tool created? Or do I need to go through the entire process again??

thanks

Replace the files you added with the previous ones you should have backed up.

A USB hub will fix all the problems associated with 10.5.6 and DFU mode.

How do I replace the files? When I added them I just clicked on the Fix_DFU_10_5_6.app and it kind of did everything automatically. I'm not very tech savy...

Right basically I had the same problem, always getting a error on iTunes when trying to restore it. You need to QuickPwn it first, then after that, then you can use your custom restore.

Only if the custom restore doesn't work first. Then try above.
