Im trying to remove the partitions on my hard drive it says that they are external but its actually just on one single hard drive any solutions to remove the partitions?

Click on the "View" icon, then click on "Show all Devices"
That will show more identification, and might remind you of what you have plugged in to your Mac.
(External devices are, by definition, not internal :cool: , and your screen shot does say it is a "USB External Physical Volume)
Post a screen shot of that "Show all Devices" Disk Utility window! (I could be wrong, too!) You will see the device listed above that MacOS 2 line.

Omg thanks I had a brain fart I reformatted the whole hard drive when I clicked on show all devices it shows the whole drive cheers!
