I have a mac pro 2008 3,1 system

2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon

8 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM

ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB

I recently installed the Catalina patch, but now my system is running more slowly and I'm having issues with apps. So, I just want to wipe my system and install whatever the latest OS is compatible with my machine.

However, Command+R isn't working on restart and I am unable to erase my startup disk or create a new boot drive.

I didn't backup my system before installing the Catalina patch.

Can anyone please help me. I am stuck and can't figure out how to proceed.

Thank you.
