iPad how do I remove the widgets form the home screen

I was stupid and said yes to add to the home screen and now I have no idea how to remove it... I know someone here knows the answer

I would also like to know. All I get is a blank space. Widgets never show up.

Swipe up on the widget pane until it gets to the bottom. Tap the round "Edit" button. On the resulting screen turn off the switch at the top for "Keep on Home Screen" and tap "Done".

Now you can swipe them off the screen.

You have to scroll up under the big Date/Time to get them to show sometimes.
