How do I send Apple TV to my older CRT TV set without an Apple Box? I have a Mac desktop OS10 Catalina, Version 10.15.7. One free year of Apple TV came with the computer (no Apple Box), but I would prefer to watch on the CRT set. I can get an HDMI cable if needed. I have an RCA TV converter. Is there a way to do this? Thank you.

I think you might with a lot of work. Send the video and sound to a uhf converter then out via composite signal. I suppose someone sells them.
BUT the tv only has 625 lines (U.K.) NO HDMI input either. You won’t need that cable. Also the picture will be very small. Today’s 1080 resolution and higher, will appear small on your 625 line television.

Sound ? does your TV have audio input and stereo available ?

Thanks so much for replying. Yes, I have audio input and stereo speakers.
AS I mentioned I have an RCA TV converter which my BF said is essentially a uhf converter. Do you concur?
I, however, wouldn't like a small picture on my 20" CRT set. We're going to give it a try though.
BF also mentioned that he may also need another cord. Which one - he's thinking about it...

He also mentioned another option would be to get a new flat screen set, but I don't know if that would
solve everything.

?

Yes, this would greatly simplify what you're trying to do. You can even buy TVs that have the Apple TV app built into them.

Depending on where you are in the world, you can get a flat screen for a fairly good price. You will also save a bit I think on your electric bills. My old CRT's were a power hog compared to whats out now.
