i don't want push mail. Just to go to web and check when I want to. I know I can do it on Safari. The Mail button would be way more cool! Thanks for all the other hints on g-mail problems.

do you use it to go to...

the WEB based g mail? If so, how did you set it up? I always ck on web when I am away from my I mac which pushes e mail through to stamp and leaves copy on web..

I understand what you "think" you are saying, but the iphone doesn't do "push" email. That's a blackberry thing - and with blackberry plans when someone sends you a new email it is forced to your handset in real time. Conversely, your iphone is going out and "pulling" down your new email at the intervals you set, i.e. every 15 minutes or whatever you choose. That is how you do it with an iphone. There is no other way - besides going out to gmail.com on safari and reading it when you wish. You cannot add a mail button.
